For the academic year 2022-23, an order was received from the Sri Aluru Venkata Rao Language Training Centre, Mysuru, to compile a Lambani Trilingual Mini Dictionary (Lambani/Banjara-Kannada-English).

The Lambani language possesses its own unique characteristics. This program is highly useful for reviving old, traditional words through this dictionary. Observing a lack of linguistic awareness among the younger generation, this linguistic research has been conducted for school-level children, enthusiasts of the Lambani language, and for those seeking knowledge of artistic and cultural matters. I believe this mini dictionary, developed by our district, will help in developing the language within the Lambani community and preserving languages that are fading away.

I congratulate Smt. Gayathribai, the lecturer who worked on the creation of this dictionary. I also extend my gratitude to Shri Phaneesh, the Vice-Principal, for his guidance. Heartfelt thanks to the Senior Lecturers, Lecturers of DIET, the technical team (Prashanth B.V., Naveen K.S., Sindhu M.G.), and the resource teachers. I hope this dictionary introduces high-level vocabulary to the community and serves as a significant step in ensuring the Lambani language does not go extinct.
